Northern Territory Government aiming to lower cost of air travel to major destinations

Northern Territory (NT) Chief Minister Michael Gunner lowering the cost of air travel to points such as Darwin and Alice Springs will help to drive their attractiveness as destinations in the medium to long term (ABC News, 13-Feb-2018). The NT Government is also engaging in an AUD26.5 million (USD20.9 million) SMART tourism marketing campaign, which includes AUD10.9 million (USD8.5 million) to work with airlines to strengthen the viability of established routes and increase demand to establish new routes and attract new carriers.
