Northern Mariana Islands will not accept additional air services due to airport infrastructure

16 June, 2017

Northern Mariana Islands aviation authority suspended all applications for additional international air services to the country, following a 48% year-on-year increase in arrival traffic during Apr-2017 (Radio NZ, 16-Jun-2017). Commonwealth Ports Authority, operator of the islands' airports, is concerned airport infrastructure is not able to handle the tourist influx. The suspension will take effect until Aug-2017.
