31 January, 2018

Nigeria's Minister of State for Aviation Hadi Sirika said the country is "very close to having a national carrier" (Daily Post/Premium Times, 30-Jan-2018). The Nigerian Government will provide an "enabling environment and support" for the privately owned airline, which is expected to benefit from the Single African Air Transport Market, launched in late Jan-2018. On the status of the new airline, Mr Sirika said: "We are at the stage of transaction services. We have affiliations which will be dealt with. I hope within this week, you will hear from me on where we are. It will be soon".
