Newcastle Airport and Virgin Australia extend Auckland service with three year agreement

Newcastle Williamtown Airport and Virgin Australia entered (23-Jul-2019) a three year agreement to continue three times weekly Newcastle-Auckland service with Boeing 737-800 equipment, between 21-Nov-2019 and 16-Feb-2020. Virgin Australia GM of network and revenue management Russell Shaw noted the seasonal service was popular in 2018. The service is expected to benefit the Newcastle region by up to AUD6 million (USD4.2 million), with AUD3.1 million (USD2.1 million) in direct tourism spend.
