New Zealand Ministry of Transport outlines Level 3 domestic travel restrictions

New Zealand's Ministry of Transport, via its official website, reported (Apr-2020) passengers may travel on domestic air services during 'Alert Level 3' under the following circumstances;

  • Travelling for essential work;
  • Relocating a home or business;
  • Travelling for medical reasons;
  • Travelling due to an emergency, or to give effect to a Court Order;
  • Have an exemption to travel because of compassionate reasons;
  • Going to a funeral or tangihanga;
  • The individual is foreign to New Zealand;
  • The individual is a New Zealander resident within Tokelau, Niue or the Cook Islands, returning to New Zealand;
  • Arrived in New Zealand from overseas and have completed 14 days' of managed isolation or quarantine at port of arrival;
  • The individual has been 'stuck in wrong place' and needs to get back to home or place of work.
