New Zealand restricts travel from China to protect against coronavirus

Beehive.govt.nz reported (02-Mar-2020) an extension of temporary travel restrictions into New Zealand on all foreign nationals travelling from or transiting through mainland China to protect New Zealand and the Pacific Islands from the disease, effective immediately. New Zealand citizens may still be able to enter the country, however must self isolate for 14 days. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade raised its travel advice to New Zealanders for all of mainland China to "Do not travel". New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern reported she is "particularly mindful that we are a gateway to the Pacific, and must factor that into our decision making" and has been in contact with Australia "to ensure we are each aware of any changes to our systems".
