New Rwanda-Nigeria air transport agreement includes fifth freedom rights: report

RwandAir was reportedly granted unrestricted fifth freedom rights in Nigeria under the bilateral air services agreement between Rwanda and Nigeria signed on 26-Mar-2018 (The New Times, 27-Mar-2018). Rwanda's Minister of State for Transport Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye reportedly said: "With the provision of fifth freedom which is reciprocal, the interconnectivity between the two countries will facilitate the private sectors of both countries to realise and tap into the economic and social benefits". RwandAir operates to Lagos and plans to commence Abuja service in Mar-2018.
