New airline campaigns – Worth the millions? You decide.

5 May, 2017

Whether it be to advise new products or services, promote fare sales or purely a simple branding exercise, airlines invest a great deal of money into ensuring you notice it. But are the campaigns really delivering? The airlines definitely seem to think so.

Qantas

Qantas launched the third series of its 'Feels Like Home' brand campaign on 30-Apr-2017. Qantas group executive for brand, marketing and corporate affairs Olivia Wirth said that the build-up to Perth-London service was the perfect opportunity to evolve the campaign. Making great waves across social media at the moment, this campaign is expected to perfectly compliment sales for Qantas' first ever direct service to the UK.

Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand's award-winning 'Better Way to Fly' campaign, originally introduced in Oct-2016, centres around the goose named Dave. The "interesting" choice of a brand ambassador has been pushing the boundaries for some time now and the next step of his crazy adventure involves the sights and sounds of incredible South America.

The new one-minute ad spot of Dave the Goose in Argentina, has him exploring the bustling city, mingling with the locals and even enjoying a tango or two.

We are still unsure as to why this campaign has been so successful but it really does seem to be working.
