Myanmar unlikely to open to international services until Oct-2020

15 July, 2020

Myanmar's VP Henry Van Thio reported the country is unlikely to open to international commercial passenger services until Oct-2020 (The Irrawaddy/The Thaiger/New Straits Times, 10/13/14-Jul-2020). Myanmar's government stated services will initially be restricted to neighbouring countries in the ASEAN region and countries across Asia at a later stage. The government also plans to take part in 'travel bubbles' with Thailand and Vietnam. As previously reported by CAPA, international services have been suspended since Mar-2020, the ban was most recently extended to 15-Jul-2020.
