Munich Airport CEO: Effects of the Covid-19 crisis will be felt ‘for some years’

Munich Airport CEO Jost Lammers said there were “clear signs” that the downward trend in passenger traffic volume had “bottomed out” by the end of May-2020 (International Airport Review, 17-Aug-2020). He said many airlines have been gradually ramping up operations since early Jun-2020, including the restart of the first intercontinental routes, with 120 destinations served as of mid Jul-2020. “We are expecting a steady upward trajectory, while understanding that we will be feeling the effects of the crisis for some years”, Mr Lammers concluded.
