20 March, 2020

Munich Airport announced (20-Mar-2020) plans to adjust and bundle passenger operations in terminals 1 and 2 in response to the substantial drop in traffic due to the coronavirus outbreak. All passenger and hand baggage checks in T1 will now take place in departure area C. All handling processes in module A will then be discontinued and moved to areas B, C and D from 23-Mar-2020. In addition, all arrivals that take place in area A until then will be transferred to other areas in T1 as of 23-Mar-2020. From 24-Mar-2020, the satellite building in T2 (gates J, K and L) will no longer be used for passenger traffic until further notice. All scheduled departures and arrivals will then be handled via T2 (gates G and H). The operation of the passenger transport system between T2 and the satellite building will be temporarily suspended.
