KLM Royal Dutch Airlines president and CEO Peter Elbers said the carrier has increased seat capacity 14% over the last three years, while passengers increased 16% (Zakenreis, 08-Jan-2018). "We have taken a path of saving costs on the one hand and profitable growth on the other... And our ambition is to continue growing", he said. Mr Elbers announced: "We have an ambitious agenda: in 2018 we will invest more than [EUR1 billion] in the KLM company for the first time in history".
