Mexican Government seems unlikely to assist airlines even as Aeromexico files for Chapter 11

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: 'Aeromexico fails to escape fate of its larger Latin peers', stated (02-Jul-2020) Mexico's Government appears unlikely to provide support to the country's airlines, despite arguments by Aermexico and Volaris that the industry requires assistance. Governments in Latin America continue to lag behind other regions in offering support to airlines during the COVID-19 crisis. Aeromexico has become the third airline in Latin America to file for Chapter 11 and the Mexican Government has stated it has no intention of offering support to airlines. [more - CAPA Analysis]
