Menzies Aviation announced (07-Jan-2019) plans to expand cargo operations in Australia with the opening of two new cargo facilities at Cairns Airport and Melbourne Avalon Airport, expanding its global cargo network to over 30 facilities. Menzies will establish Menzies Aviation Cairns, a JV with local aviation service provider AT Group, to support Cairns Airport with the opening of a new international cargo handling facility in 1Q2019. Virgin Australia is the inaugural customer for Menzies Aviation Cairns with eight times daily service and four weekly freighter services.
