Mareeba Airport completes USD15.6m two stage upgrade

Queensland Government announced (20-Nov-2019) the opening of Mareeba Airport following a two stage upgrade. State Member for Cook Cynthia Lui stated the "AUD23 million (USD15.6 million) project is an investment in Far North Queensland's regional aviation capabilities" as well as Mareeba's future. Queensland's Government contributed AUD13 million (USD8.8 million) to the upgrade with the balance from the Federal Government.
