Malaysia Airlines announced (19-Dec-2019) plans to launch a joint business structure with Japan Airlines in 2020. The agreement follows an individual exemption granted by the Malaysian Aviation Commission and antitrust immunity granted by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
