Main driver of Air France-KLM's operating profit improvement is network segment

25 February, 2018

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: 'Air France-KLM margin trails airline rivals - and Air France lags its successful KLM partner', stated (24-Feb-2018) the main driver of Air France-KLM's operating profit improvement has been the network segment. This combines the passenger network and cargo segments that were previously reported separately. The network segment made an operating profit of EUR1192 million in 2017, up 47% year-on-year. The merging of the passenger and cargo network segments hides the performance of the group's cargo business, which had made losses in eight of the nine years until 2016, when separate reporting ended.
