Macau Government Tourism Office: Macau could still receive 22m visitors in 2020

Macau Government Tourism Office director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes stated the special administrative region could still receive 22 million visitors in 2020 despite the coronavirus pandemic (Ponto Final, 10-Jul-2020). Macau received 39.4 million visitors in 2019, 71% of which were from China. Macau received 3.2 million visitors in the first five months of 2020, a decline of 81% year-on-year, while arrivals from China accounted for 2.3 million.
