Lufthansa to offer point-to-point airfares exclusively via NDC and direct channels

Lufthansa plans to offer European point-to-point airfares on select airlines exclusively via NDC and direct channels from 01-Dec-2018 (BBT/phocuswire.com, 21/22-Nov-2018). Lufthansa senior director of sales for the UK, Ireland and Iceland Andreas Koester estimated the carrier receives 1000 bookings per month or around 1% of bookings in the UK via NDC. Lufthansa reported a 300% increase in bookings since Aug-2018 through current and newly connected NDC agencies, extending its NDC Partner and NDC Smart Offer products to include the UK and Ireland in May-2018, as previously reported by CAPA.
