PTC announced (07-Jun-2019) Lufthansa Technik (LT) will integrate Windchill Product Lifecycle Management and ThingWorx Industrial Internet of Things platforms into its product development and engineering processes. Details include:
- Windchill will enable R&D and manufacturing to work concurrently and improve collaboration internally and among its suppliers. Windchill comprises a secure data repository to ensure LT intellectual property is protected across its global supply chain;
- ThingWorx will provide workshop monitoring and allow LT to advance automation, and increase data driven decision making.
The platforms combined will increase digitalisation within LT's processes, improve interfaces between customers and suppliers and create new digital business models to generate new revenue streams. [more - original PR]
