Lufthansa Group CEO: Airline business models are converging

    Deutsche Lufthansa AG chairman and CEO Carsten Spohr stated airline business models are “converging” (Bloomberg, 11-Jun-2018). For the Lufthansa Groupspecifically, Mr Spohr stated the creation of Eurowings has allowed the group’s premium brands to “be more premium again”, which has been a “significant driver of recent success”. Mr Spohr also stated Lufthansa is “proud to be the most digital airline”. He said future digital endeavours will be to internally offer better interfaces for employees and further improve the customer product offering. Mr Spohr highlight trust and data protection is “key for us” and the group knows “so much and we talk about it so little… that’s why people trust us”.
