Lufthansa Cargo yet to find replacement for MD-11F aircraft

Lufthansa Cargo CEO Peter Gerber reported the airline has yet to find a suitable replacement aircraft for its Boeing/McDonnell Douglas MD-11F (WirtschaftsWoche/aero.de, 20/21-Feb-2018). Mr Gerber said "At the moment there is no offer for us, because the A330 freighter is actually too small" leaving Boeing 747 and 777 freight aircraft as the only options. The CEO noted Boeing may introduce a 777X freight aircraft, but said "we're still five or six years away from that".
