Looking back… 2019 was a packed year of insights from a record CAPA event programme

Behind the scenes it may have been a year of transition for CAPA – Centre for Aviation as it was integrated into the Aviation Week Network alongside fellow respected brands such as Aviation Week, Air Transport World and Routes and its consultancy ASM, following its purchase by Informa.

But, on the outside it was business as usual as a calendar of global events highlighted the key talking points of the year – and their were plenty of both events and talking points as CAPA entered new markets, geographically and in terms of content.

Starting with the hugely successful inaugural CAPA Qatar Aviation Aeropolitical and Regulatory Summit in Doha at the beginning of February and ending earlier this month with the CAPA World Aviation Outlook Summit in Malta, it has been a busy year of events for the CAPA team.

There has been so much to talk about. From delivering a declaration for industry change and highlighting how technology is changing the industry to ensuring subjects such as market accessibility, the environment, sustainability and diversity remain at the top of the agenda, the CAPA team have shown a commitment to not just delivering engaging content, but generating discussions that would lead to industry change.

There has also been the exciting launch of the Corporate Travel Community (CTC), which has already become firmly established as Asia’s fastest growing travel manager grouping. It held held its inaugural China Gathering in Oct-2019 at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on The Bund and inaugural Asia Gathering in Nov-2019 at the prestigious Capella Singapore on Sentosa Island.  Both events delivered a 70% buyer-to-supplier ratio.
