London Gatwick Airport proceeding with plans for second runway

    London Gatwick Airport CEO Stewart Wingate reported the airport is proceeding with plans to covert an emergency runway into a fully functioning second runway despite the impact of coronavirus on its operations (crawleynews24.co.uk, 27-Apr-2020). Mr Wingate stated: “We’ve set ourselves with a challenge of in 2021 going forward with a public consultation and then subsequently going in to the planning process with a view to getting the planning permission sometime during the course of 2023”.
