Ljubljana Airport GM details network developments following Adria Airways collapse

28 October, 2019

Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport GM Zmago Skobir reported nine of the 29 routes previously operated by Adria Airways remain unserved (Ex-Yu Aviation, 28-Oct-2019). "It is certain that some routes are unlikely to resume soon, and some even never, such as Pristina and Tirana... Flights to and from Tirana and Pristina did not play a key role in the Slovenian economy and tourism sector", Mr Skobir said. Destinations in Western Europe, "which are much more important to the Slovenian economy and tourism industry", are expected to be relaunched soon, including Frankfurt, Zurich, Munich, and Brussels. "Vienna is slightly more difficult", he continued, "but I am sure it will be launched soon". He also noted the airport will "work hard" to resume service to Skopje.
