Limited Airport Terminal Services (Fiji) staff return to work at Nadi Airport

20 December, 2017

Airport Terminal Services (Fiji) (ATS) chairman Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum confirmed some ground handling and catering staff returned to work, having signed a letter stating they were mistaken to leave their workplaces to attend a shareholders meeting on 16-Dec-2017 (Fiji Village/Fiji Sun, 21-Dec-2017). Mr Sayed-Khaiyum reported the company is continuing to operate at Nadi International Airport, with support from Fiji Airways, Air New Zealand, the Fiji Civil Aviation Authority, Airports Fiji and other local stakeholders. ATS Employees Trust, representing workers at ATS, held discussions with management and agreed for staff to return to work "without condition and without prejudice to their hours of work and salaries", in exchange for an end to the lock out by management. Fiji's Ministry of Labour and Industrial Relations confirmed meetings with ATS staff and management are ongoing.
