Berlin-Brandenburg Airport reportedly received a request for lower airport fees from LCCs and charter carriers due to operate from the existing Berlin Schoenefeld Airport, which will be incorporated into the new airport and rebranded as Terminal 5 from 2020 (airliners.de, 14-Oct-2019). The carriers are reportedly dissatisfied that taxi distances to the existing facility will be several times longer than to the new facility, and are seeking the lower charges in compensation.
