LATAM Airlines Group CEO Enrique Cueto, via LATAM Airlines' inflight magazine, Vamos, stated (Feb-2019) "As an airline group, we are committed to Brazil and we recognise its enormous potential for growth… But to continue developing, critical and profound changes are needed". Mr Cueto listed high fuel costs, due to high taxes and the way prices are calculated, labour costs and airport infrastructure as main issues impacting the aviation industry in the country.
