LATAM Airlines to launch nonstop Santiago-Sydney service

LATAM Airlines Group announced (03-Jul-2019) plans to launch three times weekly nonstop Santiago-Sydney service with Boeing 787-9 aircraft, effective 27-Oct-2019. The carrier already commenced ticket sales. The carrier will also reduce Santiago-Auckland-Sydney frequency from seven to four times weekly. LATAM Airlines Group CCO Roberto Alvo stated: "A direct Santiago-Sydney service strengthens South America-Australia and Asia connectivity" and "also adjusts our network to address passengers' demand in both side of the Pacific".
