KLM, SkyNRG and SHV Energy announce project for first European sustainable aviation fuel plant

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines entered (27-May-2019) a partnership with SkyNRG and SHV Energy for the development of Europe's first plant for sustainable aviation fuel. SkyNRG will develop the dedicated sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant in Delfzijl and will specialise in producing SAF, bioLPG and naphtha, with the facility scheduled to open in 2022. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines committed a 10 year period to the development and purchase of 75,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel p/a, with SHV Energy investing in the facility and plans to purchase the bioLPG produced.
