KLM Cityhopper considering increasing seats on older E190s: MD

12 March, 2018

KLM Cityhopper MD Warner Rootliep said the carrier is "considering increasing the number of seats in our oldest Embraer E190s from 100 to 106 or 108", due to movement constraints at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (Zakenreis, 10-Mar-2018). "Our oldest aircraft are now approaching 10 years of age, which means that they have to enter the hangar for major maintenance", he noted. Mr Rootliep said the change would mean the need for another cabin member, adding: "That is a puzzle, in which we will also have to talk to the trade unions... Another solution has to be found for the limited space for hand luggage in the Embraers".
