KLM CEO: Schiphol slot scarcity restricting growth

11 January, 2018

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines president and CEO Pieter Elbers stated the carrier's growth at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport will be restricted in 2018 due to slot scarcity (luchtvaartnieuws.nl, 10-Jan-2018). KLM "will not be able to fly everything we [wanted to]", according to Mr Elbers. "We want to grow and create jobs, but in recent years many slots have been given away, partly as a result of the Airline Reward Programme", he said.
