KLM CEO: Air France strike costs equal to two 787s

14 May, 2018

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, via its official Twitter account, reposted (13-May-2018) an interview with president and CEO Pieter Elbers (Buitenhof, 13-May-2018). Mr Elbers noted strikes at Air France have cost the company around EUR400 million, which roughly corresponds to the annual profit of Air France in 2017. "For this amount you can buy two Boeing 787s", he said. Mr Elbers dismissed the notion of Air France-KLM splitting, while adding: "It's nice to have a French brother next to you, but it has to be a strong brother".
