Airports of Thailand (AoT) executive VP of business development and marketing Wichai Boonyoo said three companies have submitted bids for the multi airport duty free concession encompassing Chiang Mai, Hat Yai and Phuket airports (DFNI Online, 05-Jun-2019). Details include:
- King Power International Group;
- Bangkok Airways in a consortium with Lotte Duty Free;
- Royal Orchid Sheraton Thailand in a consortium alongside Dufry.
As previously reported by CAPA, all joint bids must have a lead Thai firm. AoT has already revealed King Power as the highest bidder for the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi duty free concession, and is therefore likely to retain the contract.
