Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Tourism Najib Balala forecast growth in international tourist arrivals of 16% year-on-year in 2018, following a 9.8% increase to 1.47 million in 2017 (KBC, 10-Feb-2018). 2018 arrivals are expected to be boosted by the launch of Kenya Airways' Nairobi-New York service in Oct-2018 and greater marketing efforts in the Americas. Arrivals from the US to Kenya increased 17% to 114,507 in 2017.
