Kenya Airways submitted a formal request to operate from Kenya to Israel over Sudanese airspace (algemeiner.com, 11-Jun-2018). Israel and Sudan currently have no diplomatic ties with the request coming ahead of the carrier’s plans to commence weekly service between Nairobi and Tel Aviv in 2019. Israel’s Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz met with Kenya Airways CEO Sebastian Mikosz on 07-Jun-2018 to discuss additional steps towards actualising the plan.
