Kenya Airways may order up to 20 C Series or E-Jet E2 aircraft

Kenya Airways CEO Sebastian Mikosz, speaking to Reuters on the sidelines of the IATA AGM and World Air Transport Summit, said (04-Jun-2018) the airline is considering an order of 15 to 20 Bombardier C Series or Embraer E-Jet E2 aircraft. Mr Mikosz commented: “The performance of the C Series has to be studied”. He also noted the lack of availability of maintenance services for the aircraft in Africa is an issue, stating: “I don’t care if they are able to fly to London. My question is do I have maintenance in Bangui, Juba, Abidjan? But the more African carriers are looking at it, it means the maintenance base will be growing”.
