KCGI and Aekyung launch bids to acquire majority stake in Asiana Airlines

Korea Corporate Governance Improvement Fund (KCGI) and Aekyung reportedly submitted bids for Kumho Asiana Group's 31.05% holding in Asiana Airlines (Reuters, 03-Sep-2019). Kumho's holding is valued at KRW387.4 billion won (USD319.5 million) at the close of trading on 02-Sep-2019. As previously reported by CAPA, SK Group and CJ Group are also reportedly interested in the sale.
