Jetstar: TWU to take industrial action on 19-Feb-2020

    Jetstar Airways announced (14-Feb-2020) ground handlers represented by the Transport Workers Union (TWU) plan to take further protected industrial action on 19-Feb-2020, including rolling two hour work stoppages over 24 hours. The strike will involve more than 250 workers at airports in Adelaide, Melbourne Avalon, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne and Sydney. Jetstar has presented a package to the TWU that includes a 3% p/a pay increase, one year’s worth of back pay and other benefits related to rosters. The airline stated the TWU’s current list of claims equates to a 12% increase in costs, including a 6% wages and superannuation increase.
