Jetstar develops industrial action contingency plan

11 December, 2019

Jetstar Group CEO Gareth Evans reported (11-Dec-2019) the carrier developed a contingency plan to minimise the impact of the Australian Federation of Air Pilots' (AFAP) work stoppages on 14-Dec-2019 and 15-Dec-2019. Mr Evans stated the carrier will consolidate selected services, upgauging aircraft, retiming services and Qantas and QantasLink will operate a number of supplementary services. Jetstar expects 80 services to operate scheduled departures, and will cancel 44 services on Saturday 14-Dec-2019 and 46 services on Sunday 15-Dec-2019. Jetstar expects 95% of passengers on their journey on the same day, however passengers scheduled to depart between 13-Dec-2019 and 20-Dec-2019 may also request a refund prior to departure. The impact to Jetstar's international departures are expected to be minimal with limited delays and cancellations planned. [more - original PR]
