JetBlue Airways EVP: RASM declines 3.1% in 1Q2019

24 April, 2019

JetBlue Airways EVP of commercial and planning Marty St George reported (23-Apr-2019) revenue per available seat mile (RASM) declined 3.1% year-on-year in 1Q2019, due to holiday calendar placement, a 0.75 point headwind from improved completion factor and "certain areas of softness" in the "trough period". Mr St George noted RASM in Mar-2019 "showed clear signs of a weaker trough, which extended into the first half of April", adding the Apr-2019 peak is showing the "strength we had expected". RASM is expected to increase in May-2019 and Jun-2019. [more - original PR]
