Jet2.com CEO calls for more restrictions on pre-flight drinking to combat disruptive pax behaviour

29 November, 2018

Jet2.com CEO Steve Heapy repeated his call for the UK Government and airports to impose stricter restrictions on pre-flight drinking to combat disruptive passenger behaviour (TTG Media, 28-Nov-2018). Mr Heapy said the airline would ban disruptive passengers, adding: "We're not trying to spoil people's fun... But we are flying a metal tube 11km above the Earth's surface at 550mph. We have to operate a safe environment". As previously reported by CAPA, easyJet has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards disruptive passengers, while Ryanair has called on airports to implement a two drink per passenger pre-flight limit. More than 200 disruptive passenger incidents have been recorded by the Civil Aviation Authority in the year to 16-Jul-2018.
