Whether it’s heading to an important business meeting, or arriving in style for date night, the new options within the app offer an increasing number of ways for riders to personalise their experiences.

The most notable is the introduction of ‘Quiet Mode’ where users can signal to drivers that they’re not interested in a conversation other than at pickup and drop-off. It may be for business needs to respond to emails or a need to switch off, even a welcome short nap, drivers will be alerted to the fact that you want some peace. Similarly, the setting can be set for “no preference” or “happy to chat” for those in the mood for conversation.

Other new options are ‘Help with Luggage’ so users can alert drivers that an extra pair of hands is needed to carry and load luggage, and ‘Temperature Control’ so whether the user wants air conditioning or heating ramped up the driver will be aware of optimal temperature requirements before arriving for pick-up. Meanwhile, ‘Consistent Vehicle Quality’ allows users to gain a standardised service to their individual needs with consistent vehicle model, makes, interiors, and exteriors.

“We know that when riders choose Uber Black and Uber Black SUV, they want a consistent, high quality experience every time they ride. With these new features and more to come, we’re excited to ensure that our riders can arrive relaxed and refreshed, wherever they’re headed,” says Uber.
