Introducing OAG’s on-time Performance Star Ratings

24 July, 2017

CAPA - Centre for Aviation partner, OAG has launched a new on-time performance programme designed to inform travellers about carrier's performance across the globe. The new programme gives airlines and airports an official badge that will drive consumer confidence in their brand, recognise team efforts and ultimately give the industry consistent on-time performance KPIs on which to base their aspirations.

On-time performance is defined by OAG as departures and arrivals that take place strictly less than 15 minutes after schedule for airports. For airlines 'on-time' is defined as arrivals that take place strictly less than 15 minutes after schedule.

Awarded twice a year in April and October, and based on 12 months of rolling data, this is the ultimate, inclusive, globally recognised accreditation for any airline or airport.

The programme utilises a star rating based on the following percentages:

To be eligible for a star - all airlines and airports must have a minimum of 600 operations a month.
