Bali's Governor Wayan Koster confirmed the island will remain closed to international visitors for the remainder of 2020 (Bloomberg/Sydney Morning Herald/SBS News, 24-Aug-2020). Mr Koster stated: "The situation is not conducive to allowing foreign tourists to come to Indonesia, including to Bali". The island recorded 4576 confirmed COVID-19 as of 24-Aug-2020, with around 155,000 confirmed cases in Indonesia. As previously reported by CAPA, Indonesia's Government reopened Bali to domestic tourists on 31-Jul-2020 and had plans to reopen to international tourists in Sep-2020.
