India's Minister of Civil Aviation 'reassured' by interest shown in Air India

India's Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri said he is "reassured" by the interest shown in the acquisition of Air India, which includes "some of our friends in the Gulf, Asia and Europe" (The Dispatch/Live Mint/Hindu BusinessLine, 17/18-Feb-2020). Mr Puri also noted the bidder which wins a stake in Air India will be required to retain the airline's staff for a certain period, stating: "There has not been any recruitment for years and therefore, there is no surplus".
