India DGCA instructs Jet Airways to assist passengers impacted by aircraft grounding

    India‘s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reportedly instructed Jet Airways to exclusively operate “completely airworthy aircraft” and to arrange alternative options for all passengers impacted by cancellations associated with the grounding of Jet Airways aircraft (TNN/Live Mint/Deccan Herald/New Indian Express/NDTV, 07-Mar-2019). Jet Airways reportedly has 52 aircraft grounded at present, including 28 aircraft grounded due to non payment of dues to lessors and 24 aircraft grounded due to aircraft maintenance issues, including engine and spare parts procurement issues.
