Indigo Partners managing partner Bill Franke, speaking at CAPA's Masterclass: Indigo Partners on aviation and travel beyond COVID-19, commented (20-May-2020) on the passenger demand recovery process after the COVID-19 pandemic, stating: "The ULCC has historically performed better than legacy models coming out of international consequential events, such as 9/11 or SARS". He added: "Consumers move first to a leisure or personal travel… business only comes later… If your model is skewed towards the business side… you're going to be behind recovery". Concluding: "Each airline has to understand their passenger base, passenger model, who are their passengers and what would that passenger be looking for and adapt their plan to meet passenger need".
