ICF Aviation: Argentina air traffic could double or triple with deregulation

24 May, 2018

ICF Aviation principal Carlos Ozores, speaking to CAPA TV, said (16/17-Apr-2018) Argentina is "one of the most underserved" air travel markets in the world, and that the level of traffic could be doubled or tripled "without really anything other than just deregulating the industry". According to Mr Ozores, there are about 50 or 60 million bus passengers p/a on long distance ground routes that would be better served by air travel. The new Macri Government has made moves to deregulate and issue licences to new airlines. Mr Ozores said that the entry of new airlines into the market is going to really help to catapult that traffic two to thee times" within the next six to seven years. [more - CAPA TV]
