IATA: Stagnant Australian domestic market, with load factor supported by capacity cuts

6 October, 2017

IATA reported (05-Oct-2017) "stagnant" domestic demand in Australia for Aug-2017, with RPKs declining 0.1% year-on-year. IATA stated RPKs have been trending sideways in seasonally adjusted terms "over the past year or so, although domestic capacity has trended down over the same period", at an annualised pace of around 2% since late-2016. As a result, domestic Australia passenger load factor grew by more than two percentage points. [more - original PR]
